Luigia is a bright and vibrant student at Stellenbosch University. She has an inherited condition called Stargardt Disease which only started showing symptoms during her varsity career. The disease causes progressive degeneration of the macula, which is a small area in the centre of the retina that is responsible for sharp, straight-ahead vision. Because of this her peripheral vision is still considerably better than her central.
She has 15% vision left.
